Christine Lavin

image

Where can you join a knitting circle, witness amazing feats of baton twirling, learn science or history, and listen to songs that range from poignant to profound to hilarious? Only at a Christine Lavin concert.

When you go to a Christine Lavin concert, bring your knitting an hour before the show, and Christine will sit and knit with you.

No, really.

Bring an extra pair of needles so you can teach someone else. If you don't knit, bring your needlepoint, crochet -- whatever. Christine Lavin is all about diversity.

Diverse describes the subjects of Christine's songs. She may have earned a "D" in astronomy, but Neil deGrasse Tyson, Director of the Hayden Planetarium in New York City, included her song, "Planet X", in his book, The Pluto Files. Christine turned her song, "Amoeba Hop," into a children's book recommended by the Society of Protozoologists. Science, history, politics, baseball, air conditioners, high-heeled shoes, relationships – Lavin examines life and puts it to song.

Christine Lavin has recorded 19 solo albums. She is a freelance writer and hosts the xm satellite radio show Slipped Disks. Christine recently performed her song, "Good Thing He Can't Read My Mind" at Jim Caruso's Cast Party at Birdland in New York City.

From the perils of high heel shoes to the plight of Pluto, Christine Lavin keeps audiences thinking and laughing.

Sandy's Thoughts -- What you may not read in the Press...

I had never heard of Christine Lavin {gasp!} before Dale Gross introduced her to me. One song, and I was hooked. When I told my husband and kids that Caberfeidh was producing a Christine Lavin concert, well, let's just say they were less than enthusiastic about attending.

Then I played one her CDs for them.

Then NO ONE wanted to miss her.

Christine Lavin isn't just a talented musician, she is thought-provoking and laugh-out-loud funny. In one evening of terrific entertainment, Christine Lavin had the audience laughing, crying, and singing along. And all the men in the family, none of whom wanted to go at first, ended up on stage with Christine for "Sensitive New Age Guys."

Christine is one of the best people you will ever meet. Warm and engaging -- if you come to her concert a stranger, you will leave a friend. She is genuine, and her love for people shows in the way she treats everyone she meets. I can't say enough good things about Christine Lavin. Don't take my word for it. Listen to a CD. Make it a point to see her in concert. You won't be disappointed.
