Scottish/Celtic folksinger and guitarist, presents a program of traditional, contemporary, and nationally-acclaimed
original folk songs about Scotland’s rugged landscape, its turbulent history, and the Scottish immigrants' influence
on American folk and bluegrass music.
Colin Grant-Adams has entertained in the famous folk clubs of Europe and the United States. He brings new life to traditional tunes with a touch of humor. Weaving tales of Scotland's turbulent history and haunting beauty, his remarkable ballads take you on a journey across the sea. Colin captivates the audience’s heart, mind and soul. Originally from Oban, Scotland, Grant-Adams played the folk circuits of Great Britain and Europe both as a solo artist and as a member of the highly-acclaimed folk group, The Ozark Mountain Boys. Colin lived on the west coast of Scotland for about twenty years, performing Celtic and country music at the Great Western Hotel and touring extensively throughout Scotland, the Hebrides and Orkney Islands, Europe and America. In 1996, the Glasgow Highland Games of Kentucky awarded Colin an Artist in Residence Fellowship in Scottish and Celtic music. The fellowship enabled him to study, compose and record music about the early Scots who arrived in America bringing with them a wealth of culture. Through the residency, Grant-Adams relocated to the United States and the Glasgow, Kentucky. Grant-Adams has produced nine recordings and has appeared on numerous TV and radio shows. He has performed in concerts all over the United States, including at New York City's acclaimed Carnegie Hall.
